That was a harsh critique from Robin_1990
And it was on point!
The tenor of this show is as the character of the hillbillies themselves - honest, unpretentious, and endearing.
Human decency and kindness were once considered appropriate human qualities worthy of exhibition in plays and on television. Now, only moral depravity and social ugliness are considered to be proper subject matter for comedy.
I mourn for our lost innocence as a nation, and celebrate the fact that the notions of kindness, compassion, and honor, yet find expression in these old shows.
Thanks for the uploader for having given us these gems.

Despite what stupid critics thought, "The Beverly Hillbillies" was FUN and VERY GOOD!
Hey, Look at some of the shows the critics have praised over the years; "The Oscar Levant Show", "All In The Family", "Fast Foward" and "Maude"; All of which have AGED BADLY!
This show doesn't contain a sigle topical joke, nor does it contain anything topical at all. Instead, It's humor comes from the stupidity of the characters, With only Miss Hathaway being smart. In fact, She is the glue that keeps the show together, Since without her it would just be annoying. Elly May could be smart at times, But she could also be very dumb, as shown here.
Also, The show knows perfectly well that it is stupid, Thus it's actually decent. Many TV shows have been dumb, But because they think they are smart, They suck.
"The Beverly Hillbillies" was hardly "Quality TV" by the standards of the time, But until somebody uploads stuff from NET (Which later
lead to PBS), This will do.
